OEM Exhaust System Development Process
- Requirements Confirmation
The automaker specifies technical parameters: compliance with Euro 6 emission standards, reduced backpressure to improve hybrid system efficiency, noise control below 68 dB, and weight ≤22 kg.
Compatibility with the vehicle’s chassis structure (space constraints, suspension positioning, etc.).
2.Design & Validation
3D Modeling: The exhaust pipe layout is designed based on the automaker’s CAD data, avoiding interference with fuel tanks, drive shafts, etc.
Material Selection: 409 stainless steel (corrosion-resistant + lightweight) with internal frequency-based noise reduction in the muffler.
Simulation Testing: CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) analyzes exhaust flow, optimizing the catalytic converter position for emission efficiency.
Prototyping: 3 prototypes are built for bench testing and real-world road tests.
3.Production & Quality Control
Robotic welding ensures consistent seams, with batch leak tests (helium detection).
Key inspections: Oxygen sensor mounting hole precision (±0.1mm), vibration tests simulating 100,000 km durability.
4.Delivery & After-Sales
Just-in-Time (JIT) supply aligned with automaker orders, including a 15-year anti-rust warranty.
Aftermarket compatibility: Diagnostic interfaces for 4S dealerships simplify troubleshooting.
